Flight Information
The Internet is a wonderful tool for people to use to purchase flights to Corfu destinations – it has been one of the real revolutions of the last few years. Not too long ago you were obliged either to book your flights through a travel agency or to book a whole package with a tour operator, which quite often tied you into 7 or 14 nights only and arriving and departing on certain days of the week. With the advent of the internet and the arrival of budget airlines, this has all changed: we can all now book our own flights directly on the web and, for many destinations, choose when we arrive, when we depart and how long we stay. There are a number of airlines that offer decent flights to & from Corfu:
- EasyJet, from Berlin (SXF), Bristol (BRS), London Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN) or Milan (MXP)
- Thomson Flights, between May and October, from Birmingham (BHX), Bristol (BRS), East Midlands (EMA), Glasgow (GLA), London Gatwick (LGW), London Stanstead (STN), Manchester (MAN) or Newcastle (NCL)
- Monarch, from Birmingham (BHX), Bristol (BRS), East Midlands (EMA), London Gatwick (LGW), Manchester (MAN) or Newcastle (NCL)
- There are other suppliers available and none of the links above should be considered favoured or a recommendation
Transfer Information
We can arrange a full 'Meet & Greet' service on Paxos courtesy of our partners, Travel à la Carte . The full service includes: someone to meet you on arrival at the airport, the arrangement of all transport and luggage transfers to Villa Thea along with a Welcome Food Hamper on arrival and then, at the end of the holiday, the organising of all your return transfers back to the airport. This service is particularly useful on a ‘harder to reach’ island such as Paxos, as it relieves you of all worries about reaching and returning from your destination once in Greece - especially useful in the peak summer months, when local transport can be busy and fully booked.
Please ask for details of this service when you are booking. Regular visitors to Paxos will be aware that it is not unusual for ferries and hydrofoils to be cancelled due to bad weather, particularly in early and late season. As a well-established tour operator to Paxos, Travel à la Carte work with local operators to provide sea transfers between Corfu and Paxos, often using the sea taxi service. You can of course book the sea taxi yourself but it is expensive for families and couples travelling alone, whereas Travel à la Carte are able to organise larger groups and thereby reduce the cost per person. We are also in a better position to look after you in the event of any occasional disruption.
An added bonus of arranging your transfers through us, is that you will not have to wait as long for a taxi to meet you on arrival on Paxos. This is particularly important as Paxos is a small island, only eight miles by three, and it has only five taxis. If you do not have a pre-booked taxi to meet you, you will invariably have a long wait for a transfer to your accommodation, unless you have booked a hire car for collection at the port. On the main change-over days you will also, as a private individual, find it almost impossible to book a taxi to take you from your accommodation back to the port, as they will all be fully booked by tour operators.

Medical Care
In the unlikely event of one of your party having an accident or falling ill, the medical care available in Greece is now generally of a good standard. Also, increasingly, medical staff are able to speak English. There are doctors on the island and their details can be found in the Information Book in our accommodation.
